Javascript bookmarklet

Create a bookmark for the following link: Google Maps to POI;
Open Google Maps;
Let Google Maps calculate your route or show points of interest;
Open the bookmark.

(Note: the bookmarklet does not take language or encoding settings into
account. Language is defined by the version of Google Maps you use
(e.g., http://maps.google.com is in English by default), while encoding has
to be set using the editor of your choice. However, sound settings are
applied. If you make updates to these sound settings, you may have to
restart your browser for it to redownload the JavaScript. This script is
